Sorting Out A Topic
Where are you actually stuck?
You know what it's like - it made sense in the lesson, and you could do the classwork too. But now you're at home, working through the same topic, and you can't even get the first question started! This happens more in maths than in any other subject. It is because somewhere, deep within the topic, there is a tiny bit of information that you either missed the explanation for or didn't understand at the time. It didn't show up in class because the questions didn't touch on it. Homework questions, often set from past papers or the end of chapter exercise, almost always test these subtle parts of the topic. That's why you have hit a brick wall.
Show me the question (take a photo and email it to me there and then) and I will work through it with you from the beginning. If you have managed to get started, I can write onto your solution directly to help you move forwards from where you are stuck. Perhaps you couldn't get started - that's fine, we'll talk through what the options are and see why one of them is the best to use.
