Maths Booster
Stretch & Challenge
Many students who find maths easy simply do not get the support they need in their lessons. Doing more of the same type of questions is frankly a waste of your time. What is much more helpful to you is to attempt questions where you have to think about how to get started. Perhaps there's more than one way? Which is the best method? Spending time attempting these questions will really sharpen up your problem solving skills. Developing these skills will enable you to access the questions towards the end of exam papers. Successfully answering them is how you achieve grade 9 in GCSE, or A* at A level.
Let me find you really challenging questions on what you are doing at school or college. We work through them together, but you do the talking and thinking. I simply write down your ideas and equations. You will then have more to work through by yourself, and we go through them in the next session. Remember, you will always have my full worked solutions to any questions that we do in our sessions.
Attempting harder questions is a good experience at any age, and is not just for when you are revising for exams. Year 7 students tackling harder questions helps them get used to thinking more clearly at an early age, setting them up to be naturally inquisitive and good problem-solvers. The earlier you start, the more natural it will feel. And the more likely you will be to achieve the very highest grade in exams!
